On the same day that famed CNN analyst Anderson Cooper comes out as gay, the rap industry heard news of a possible r&b artist who also may be gay.
A few days ago, Frank Ocean gave a preview to his album Channel Orange to the insiders of he music industry. It was said that all Frank did was invite everyone into his studio, he opened up his laptop, said "This is Channel Orange", and then played the album. That of course being normal as Frank Ocean is a very soft spoken person.
The controversy comes in to play when one of the reporters there for the stream believes she heard on three of the tracks Frank stating his love for "him" as opposed to "her". The reporter who is known as "Max" is apparently the only one that heard this as I read multiple, and I mean a lot, of reviews and she was the only report of this.
Either way, if Frank is gay, bi, or straight, I know i'm still going to be getting Channel Orange and all his other work at that. He is an incredibly talented artist and writer. For those of you who don't know, Frank Ocean ghost writes for just about all the big mainstream artists you hear on the radio. Just as an example, Ocean wrote "No Church in the Wild" for Jay-Z and Kanye West.
My only worry about this is of course Ocean being part of Odd Future. Most of you may have noticed that Tyler, The Creator, as well as the rest of the group, come across as a tad bit homophobic. Hopefully nothing happens there and the group remains.
